TNEER Valvetronic Exhaust System for Porsche 718 GT4 / Spyder 2020-2023
The Porsche 718 GT4 and 718 Spyder mark the return of the naturally aspirated flat-six to the 718 platform, with a 4.0-litre unit producing 414 horsepower at 7,600 RPM derived directly from the 911 Carrera S engine. The reintroduction of a naturally aspirated six-cylinder to the mid-engine 718 chassis produced one of the most acoustically and dynamically compelling Porsche road cars of the current generation, with a high-revving flat-six character that the turbocharged flat-four of the standard 718 range cannot replicate. On a naturally aspirated platform of this specification, the exhaust system has a direct and unmediated relationship with engine breathing, throttle response, and acoustic output at every point in the rev range. TNEER engineers this valvetronic system specifically for the 718 GT4 and 718 Spyder, with muffler architecture and mounting geometry developed to the exact mid-engine chassis layout shared by both body configurations.
Each section is formed from single-piece high-grade stainless-steel tubing using robotic pipe bending technology, producing continuous tube geometry throughout the system without the weld joints and flow disruptions of multi-segment construction. The system installs to all factory mounting locations on both the GT4 and Spyder, requiring no structural modification and maintaining correct chassis alignment throughout.
The ECU-controlled valvetronic mufflers manage acoustic output through the 718 GT4 and Spyder's existing vehicle architecture without secondary controllers or aftermarket modules. Valves closed, the system maintains a composed tone appropriate for road use while presenting more of the naturally aspirated flat-six's character than the factory exhaust allows at any throttle position. Valves open, the full acoustic output of the 4.0-litre flat-six is unobstructed. As engine speed builds toward the 7,600 RPM redline, the exhaust note rises with the mechanical urgency that defines a naturally aspirated Porsche flat-six at full throttle. On a mid-engine platform where the exhaust exits directly behind the cabin, that acoustic experience with valves open is immediate and without attenuation.
Two tip configurations are available to complete the system at the rear fascia. The dual silver tips provide a clean, high-polish finish consistent with the GT4's motorsport-derived aesthetic. The carbon fiber tips present an alternative for owners whose build direction calls for exposed carbon at the rear, complementing the GT4's existing carbon fiber appointments and widebody bodywork.
Optional System Configurations
The valvetronic muffler system delivers a meaningful improvement over the factory exhaust as a standalone upgrade. For owners who want to address the complete exhaust path, TNEER offers race headers and a race link pipe that extend the system from the cylinder heads back and allow the 4.0-litre flat-six to breathe without restriction at any point in the exhaust path.
- The race headers replace the factory exhaust manifolds at the primary collection point, where exhaust gas temperature and velocity are at their peak. On a naturally aspirated platform derived from the 911 Carrera S engine, header design has a direct influence on mid-range torque characteristics and top-end power delivery. The 718 GT4 and Spyder's mid-engine positioning means the headers are more accessible than on the rear-engine 911, and the effect of performance header specification on a naturally aspirated flat-six of this displacement and redline is immediately apparent in throttle response and top-end breathing.
- The race link pipe connects the header outlets to the remainder of the exhaust system, completing the exhaust path between the primary collectors and the valvetronic muffler section without the restriction of the factory link pipe. Combined with the race headers and valvetronic muffler, the race link pipe completes a full exhaust path from cylinder head to tip that addresses every restriction point in the system in a single cohesive build.
All optional components are fabricated from high-grade stainless steel and engineered to the same fitment standard as the valvetronic muffler system.
About TNEER:
TNEER is built around a single engineering conviction: the exhaust system is not a peripheral component. It is the primary interface between the engine and the driver's experience of it. Every system TNEER produces is developed to bring out the true voice of the engine it is built for, improving exhaust flow and delivering a distinct tone that is mechanical, raw, and directly connected to the character of the car.
The manufacturing process that defines TNEER's fitment standard is their high-tech robotic pipe bending technology. Rather than fabricating exhaust routing from multiple welded sections, TNEER forms each tube from a single continuous piece, bending high-grade material to navigate the spatial constraints of each specific engine bay without the diameter reductions, flow disruptions, and structural inconsistencies that welded multi-piece construction introduces. The result is an exhaust system with continuous tube geometry, perfect fitment to the platform it is built for, and no compromises in the routing that precision bending makes unnecessary.
For enthusiasts who regard sound and performance as inseparable elements of the driving experience, TNEER engineers each system to deliver both from the first throttle input.
Note:
- Race headers and race linkpipes are not CARB certified and may not be legal for use on emissions controlled vehicles; intended for off road use only.
- ECU tuning may be required due to removal of factory catalytic converters.
