TNEER Valvetronic Exhaust System for Nissan R35 GT-R 2008+

The Nissan R35 GT-R is built around a front-mounted 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V6 producing between 480 and 600 horsepower depending on model year and specification, the VR38DETT engine that has powered one of the most consistently developed performance platforms in production since 2008. The R35's transaxle layout, with the engine mounted at the front and the transmission positioned at the rear, creates a distinct weight distribution and exhaust routing architecture that differs from conventional front-engine, front-transmission platforms. The extended primary exhaust runs from the front-mounted engine through the underbody to the rear-mounted transmission and muffler section demand precise tube geometry across a longer routing path than a standard front-engine layout requires. TNEER engineers this valvetronic system specifically for the R35 GT-R across its full production range, with mid pipe routing and mounting geometry developed to the exact transaxle chassis layout of the platform.

Each section is formed from single-piece high-grade stainless-steel tubing using robotic pipe bending technology, producing continuous tube geometry throughout the system without the weld joints and flow disruptions of multi-segment construction. The mid pipe addresses the exhaust path between the turbocharger outlets and the valvetronic rear muffler section, maintaining consistent internal diameter and eliminating the flow disruptions that welded multi-segment construction introduces across the GT-R's extended underbody routing. The system installs to all factory mounting locations across all R35 model years, requiring no structural modification and maintaining correct chassis alignment throughout.

The valvetronic rear mufflers are managed through the TACS, TNEER's proprietary App Control System, which gives the driver full manual authority over valve position through a dedicated application interface independent of driving mode or vehicle operating condition. Valves closed, the system maintains a composed tone appropriate for road use while presenting more of the twin-turbocharged V6's character than the factory exhaust allows at any throttle position. Valves open through the TACS, the full acoustic output of the VR38DETT is unobstructed and responds directly to throttle input and engine speed. The GT-R's twin-turbocharged V6 has a distinct acoustic signature at full throttle that reflects both its turbocharged architecture and its transaxle mounting configuration. The TACS makes that acoustic experience available on demand at any time regardless of driving mode on every drive.

Three tip configurations are available to complete the system at the rear fascia. The quad silver tips provide a clean, high-polish finish consistent with the GT-R's technical aesthetic. The titanium plated tips present a distinctive heat-treated color variation for owners whose build direction calls for a more visually striking finish. The carbon fiber tips offer an alternative for owners whose build direction calls for exposed carbon at the rear, complementing both standard and modified GT-R builds.

Optional System Configurations

For owners who want to address the complete exhaust path beyond the mid pipe and valvetronic muffler system, TNEER offers a Y-pipe and race downpipes as optional additions.

  • The Y-pipe consolidates exhaust flow from both turbocharger outlets into a unified routing path, contributing to flow consistency and back pressure management at the point where the dual exhaust streams converge before continuing through the remainder of the system. On a twin-turbocharged platform, the configuration and quality of the Y-pipe junction has a measurable effect on exhaust gas velocity and pulse coherence downstream.
  • The race downpipes remove the factory catalytic converters immediately downstream of the turbocharger outlets, where back pressure reduction has the most direct effect on turbine behavior, spool characteristics, and mid-range torque delivery. On the VR38DETT's twin-turbocharged architecture, the relationship between downstream restriction and turbocharger efficiency is immediate and measurable at every point in the rev range. These components are intended for closed course and off-road use.

All optional components are fabricated from high-grade stainless steel and engineered to the same fitment standard as the valvetronic muffler system.

About TNEER:

TNEER is built around a single engineering conviction: the exhaust system is not a peripheral component. It is the primary interface between the engine and the driver's experience of it. Every system TNEER produces is developed to bring out the true voice of the engine it is built for, improving exhaust flow and delivering a distinct tone that is mechanical, raw, and directly connected to the character of the car.

The manufacturing process that defines TNEER's fitment standard is their high-tech robotic pipe bending technology. Rather than fabricating exhaust routing from multiple welded sections, TNEER forms each tube from a single continuous piece, bending high-grade material to navigate the spatial constraints of each specific engine bay without the diameter reductions, flow disruptions, and structural inconsistencies that welded multi-piece construction introduces. The result is an exhaust system with continuous tube geometry, perfect fitment to the platform it is built for, and no compromises in the routing that precision bending makes unnecessary.

For enthusiasts who regard sound and performance as inseparable elements of the driving experience, TNEER engineers each system to deliver both from the first throttle input.

Note:

  • Downpipes are not CARB certified and may not be legal for use on emissions controlled vehicles; intended for off road use only.
  • ECU tuning may be required due to removal of factory catalytic converters.
