TNEER Valvetronic Exhaust System for McLaren Artura 2023+

TNEER - The Next Exhaust Engineer:

The McLaren Artura introduces a fundamentally different powertrain architecture to the McLaren lineup. The 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V6 paired with an integrated electric motor produces 671 horsepower in a hybrid system that operates across both pure combustion and combined power delivery modes. The Artura's all-new carbon fiber McLaren Carbon Lightweight Architecture, designed from the outset around the hybrid drivetrain, presents exhaust routing constraints that are more complex than any previous McLaren platform. The V6's twin-turbocharger configuration, combined with the hybrid battery and electric motor packaging in the rear mid-section, leaves significantly less engine bay clearance for exhaust system components than the V8 Sports and Super Series platforms. TNEER engineers this valvetronic system specifically for the Artura's architecture, with tube geometry, sport pipe configuration, and mounting points developed to the exact spatial and thermal constraints of the hybrid platform.

Each section is formed from single-piece high-grade stainless-steel tubing using robotic pipe bending technology, producing continuous tube geometry throughout the system without the diameter reductions and flow disruptions introduced at welded junctions in multi-segment construction. Precise routing through the Artura's constrained rear section is not a manufacturing convenience. It is a prerequisite for correct fitment on a platform where clearances between exhaust components, battery packaging, and structural elements are measured in millimeters. The system installs to all factory mounting locations, requiring no structural modification and maintaining correct chassis alignment throughout. The optional race downpipes and 200cell sport downpipes address the primary restriction point in the exhaust path downstream of the turbocharger outlets, reducing back pressure where it has the most direct effect on turbocharger efficiency and throttle response. On a hybrid platform where the electric motor supplements torque delivery at low RPM, the combustion engine's mid-range and top-end performance characteristics become the defining performance variable under sustained acceleration. Reduced exhaust restriction at the sport pipe location directly supports that output range.

The ECU-controlled valvetronic muffler integrates with the Artura's existing Active dynamics architecture, adjusting valve position in response to the selected driving mode without secondary controllers or aftermarket modules. Valves closed, the system maintains a composed tone appropriate for road use and EV-assisted driving modes. Valves open, the full acoustic output of the twin-turbocharged V6 at full combustion load is unobstructed. The Artura's V6 produces a distinct acoustic character at full throttle that differs from McLaren's V8 platforms, higher in frequency and more urgent in its delivery as engine speed builds. This system is built to present that character without the attenuation the factory exhaust imposes.

High-grade stainless-steel construction provides thermal stability and corrosion resistance to the twin-turbo V6's sustained heat output demands, with the additional consideration that hybrid drivetrain components in close proximity to the exhaust system require consistent thermal management across all operating conditions.

Optional Downpipe Configurations:

For owners seeking maximum performance extraction, TNEER offers two downpipe specifications that address the primary restriction point in the McLaren Artura exhaust path.

  • The race downpipes remove the factory catalytic converters entirely, delivering the most direct reduction in exhaust back pressure available on this platform. The effect is measurable at the turbocharger level, where reduced downstream restriction translates to faster spool, improved mid-range torque delivery, and sharper throttle response across the rev range.
  • The 200-cell sport downpipes retain a high-flow catalytic substrate, reducing restriction significantly compared to the factory units while maintaining a level of emissions compliance suitable for owners who require it. For street-driven builds where race downpipes are not practical, the 200-cell specification represents a meaningful performance upgrade within a more usable operating profile.

Both downpipe options are constructed from high-grade stainless steel and engineered to the same fitment standard as the catback system.

Quantum Ceramic Coating (QCC):

TNEER's proprietary Quantum Ceramic Coating is a three-layer ceramic particle application developed specifically for high-output exhaust environments. The specification exceeds standard ceramic coating performance across every measurable category relevant to a performance exhaust system.

QCC handles 50% more heat than conventional ceramic coatings, a critical advantage on a system managing the thermal output of the 3.0L twin turbocharged V6 under sustained performance driving conditions. Hardness and wear resistance are improved by 30% over standard ceramic alternatives, ensuring the coating maintains its integrity through the repeated heat cycling that track and spirited road use demands. At 50% lighter than a typical exhaust thermal shield, QCC delivers thermal management without adding mass back into a system engineered for weight efficiency.

The result is a finish that performs structurally and presents visually over the long term, without the degradation, flaking, or discoloration that standard coatings exhibit under sustained high-temperature exposure.

The Art Of Sound:

In 1913, Luigi Russolo published The Art of Noises. His work explored how the industrial revolution changed the way people experience sound. Engines, machines, and mechanical movement created a new soundscape that went far beyond traditional music. Russolo believed these mechanical sounds represented the future of how people would hear and appreciate the world around them. That same philosophy connects directly with TNEER exhaust systems. Performance cars are not only about speed or appearance. Sound plays a major role in the driving experience. A well designed performance exhaust transforms the character of the car every time the engine starts. TNEER engineers focus on building high performance exhaust systems that bring out the true voice of the engine. Each system is designed to improve exhaust flow while delivering a distinct tone that drivers can feel from the first throttle input. The result is an exhaust note that feels raw, mechanical, and deeply connected to the car itself. For enthusiasts who value performance and sound, TNEER creates an experience that goes far beyond standard factory exhaust systems.

Note:

  • Downpipes are not CARB certified and may not be legal for use on emissions controlled vehicles; intended for off road use only.
  • Valves are ECU controlled
