TNEER Valvetronic Exhaust System for BMW F91 / F92 / F93 M8 2019-2025

The BMW M8 is built around the S63 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 producing 600 horsepower in the standard specification and 617 horsepower in the Competition variant, available across three distinct body configurations: the F91 Convertible, F92 Coupe, and F93 Gran Coupe. The M8 represents BMW M's flagship grand touring platform, combining the S63's high-output twin-turbocharged V8 with a front-engine all-wheel drive architecture and three body configurations that each present specific exhaust routing requirements within the shared platform underbody. The F91, F92, and F93's extended primary exhaust runs through the transmission tunnel and underbody create routing requirements specific to the M8 platform. TNEER engineers this complete valvetronic system to accommodate all three body configurations, addressing the full exhaust path from the front pipe through the mid X-pipe to the valvetronic rear mufflers in a single cohesive system built from high-grade stainless steel throughout.

Each section is formed from single-piece high-grade stainless-steel tubing using robotic pipe bending technology, producing continuous tube geometry throughout the complete system without the weld joints and flow disruptions of multi-segment construction. The front pipe addresses the primary exhaust path from the S63's manifold outlets, establishing the flow characteristics that carry through the remainder of the system. The mid X-pipe cross-links both exhaust banks at the mid-system junction, balancing pulse energy between the V8's cylinder groups. On a twin-turbocharged V8 grand touring platform producing up to 617 horsepower, mid-system scavenging through an X-pipe contributes to exhaust flow efficiency and tonal coherence across the rev range, allowing the full character of the S63 V8 to express itself more completely through the system at every engine speed. The system installs to all factory mounting locations across the F91, F92, and F93 body configurations, requiring no structural modification and maintaining correct chassis alignment throughout.

The ECU-controlled valvetronic rear mufflers manage acoustic output through the M8's existing driving mode architecture without secondary controllers or aftermarket modules as standard. For owners who want independent manual authority over valve position beyond what the vehicle's ECU architecture provides, TNEER offers the TACS as an optional addition. The TACS allows full manual valve control through a dedicated application interface at any time regardless of driving mode or vehicle operating condition, providing an alternative to ECU-controlled valve behavior for owners who prefer direct acoustic authority on demand.

Valves closed, the system maintains a composed, refined tone appropriate for the M8's grand touring character and daily operating profile while presenting more of the S63's acoustic presence than the factory exhaust allows at any throttle position. Valves open, the full acoustic output of the M8's twin-turbocharged V8 is unobstructed and responds directly to throttle input and engine speed. The tonal difference between the standard M8 and Competition specification at full output reflects each variant's specific state of tune, and both ECU control and the optional TACS make that acoustic experience available on demand across all three body configurations on every drive.

Two tip configurations are available to complete the system at the rear fascia across all three body configurations. The quad silver tips provide a clean, high polish finish consistent with the M8's grand touring aesthetic. The quad carbon fiber tips present an alternative for owners whose build direction calls for exposed carbon at the rear, complementing both standard and Competition M8 builds across the Coupe, Convertible, and Gran Coupe configurations.

Optional Downpipe Configurations

For owners who want to address the full exhaust path from the turbocharger outlets back, TNEER offers primary race downpipes, secondary race downpipes, and 200-cell sport downpipes that complete the system and deliver maximum performance extraction from the S63's twin-turbocharger configuration.

  • The primary race downpipes address the first and most consequential restriction point immediately downstream of the turbocharger outlets, where back pressure reduction has the most direct effect on turbine behavior, spool characteristics, and mid-range torque delivery. These components are intended for closed course and off-road use.
  • The 200-cell sport downpipes retain a high-flow catalytic substrate in place of the factory units, reducing restriction significantly while maintaining a level of emissions compliance appropriate for street-driven builds. For M8 owners who require a balance between full-system performance and the car's grand touring daily operating profile, the 200-cell specification delivers a substantive upgrade within a practical context.
  • The secondary race downpipes address the next restriction point downstream of the primary downpipes, allowing the full effect of the primary downpipe work to carry through the system without reintroducing back pressure at the secondary stage. Combined with the primary race downpipes, the secondary specification addresses both stages of the downpipe run on the S63's twin-turbocharger configuration in a single complete build.

All downpipe components are fabricated from high-grade stainless steel and engineered to the same fitment standard as the remainder of the complete system.

About TNEER:

TNEER is built around a single engineering conviction: the exhaust system is not a peripheral component. It is the primary interface between the engine and the driver's experience of it. Every system TNEER produces is developed to bring out the true voice of the engine it is built for, improving exhaust flow and delivering a distinct tone that is mechanical, raw, and directly connected to the character of the car.

The manufacturing process that defines TNEER's fitment standard is their high-tech robotic pipe bending technology. Rather than fabricating exhaust routing from multiple welded sections, TNEER forms each tube from a single continuous piece, bending high-grade material to navigate the spatial constraints of each specific engine bay without the diameter reductions, flow disruptions, and structural inconsistencies that welded multi-piece construction introduces. The result is an exhaust system with continuous tube geometry, perfect fitment to the platform it is built for, and no compromises in the routing that precision bending makes unnecessary.

For enthusiasts who regard sound and performance as inseparable elements of the driving experience, TNEER engineers each system to deliver both from the first throttle input.

Note:

  • Downpipes are not CARB certified and may not be legal for use on emissions controlled vehicles; intended for off road use only.
  • ECU tuning may be required due to removal of factory catalytic converters.
