TNEER - The Next Exhaust Engineer:

The G90 M5 and G99 M5 Touring represent the most technically complex M5 generation BMW has produced. The S68 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 paired with a 48-volt mild hybrid system produces 717 horsepower in a platform that now includes all-wheel drive as standard across both body configurations. The hybrid integration introduces exhaust system design considerations that did not exist on previous M5 generations, with the mild hybrid's electrical components and revised rear subframe geometry creating packaging constraints specific to the G90 and G99 chassis. TNEER engineers this valvetronic catback specifically for both body configurations, with tube routing, carbon fiber tip positioning, and mounting geometry developed to the exact underbody architecture of the G90 sedan and G99 Touring.

Each section is formed from high-grade stainless-steel tubing using robotic pipe bending technology, producing continuous tube geometry throughout the catback without the weld joints and flow disruptions of multi-segment construction. On a twin-turbocharged platform producing this level of output, exhaust gas pressure consistency through the mid-system and rear section directly influences turbocharger efficiency and sustained power delivery underload. The system installs to all factory mounting locations on both the G90 and G99, requiring no structural modification and maintaining correct chassis alignment across both body configurations.

The ECU-controlled valvetronic muffler integrates with the M5's existing driving mode architecture, adjusting valve position in response to the selected mode without secondary controllers or aftermarket modules. Valves closed, the system delivers a composed, refined tone appropriate for daily driving and the G99 Touring's practical operating profile, while presenting more of the S68's character than the factory exhaust allows at any throttle position. Valves open under acceleration, the full acoustic output of the twin-turbocharged V8 is unobstructed and responds directly to throttle input and engine speed. On a 717 horsepower forced-induction V8 with the valves fully open, the difference from the factory exhaust note is substantial and immediate.

The premium Carbon Fiber or Silver exhaust tips complete the system at the rear fascia of both the G90 and G99, providing a visual finish consistent with the M5's performance specification without the generic presentation of most factory exhausts at this price point.

Optional Downpipes:

For owners who want to address the full exhaust path from the turbocharger outlets back, TNEER offers primary and secondary race downpipes that complete the system and remove restriction at both stages of the downpipe run on the S68's twin-turbocharger configuration.

  • The primary race downpipes address the first and most consequential restriction point immediately downstream of the turbocharger outlets, where back pressure reduction has the most direct effect on turbine behavior, spool characteristics, and mid-range torque delivery.
  • The secondary race downpipes continue that restriction reduction through the next stage of the exhaust path, allowing the full effect of the primary downpipe work to carry through the system without reintroducing back pressure downstream.

Combined with the valvetronic catback, the primary and secondary race downpipe configuration addresses the complete exhaust path from turbocharger outlet to tip in a single cohesive system, delivering the sound and performance output the G90 and G99 M5 platform can produce without factory exhaust restriction at any point in the system.
