Tillett Racing B7 Seat
The Tillett B7 racing seat weighs just 3.8 kg and is the lightest FIA homologated seat built to the 8855-1999 standard. It is approved for competition use and engineered for drivers who demand precision, proper fitment, and safety. Many brands claim extreme weight savings, but Tillett is the only manufacturer offering an FIA 8855-1999 seat at this verified weight. This is achieved through an advanced in-house molding process developed through years of testing and refinement. The B7 seat features a compact shell with exceptional rigidity and dimensional accuracy. Continuous investment in research and development allows Tillett to produce seats that deliver reliable performance on track. The contoured shape supports the entire upper torso while keeping the shoulders free, so you can steer without restriction. Even weight distribution across the shell removes pressure points, which makes additional padding unnecessary. This design also allows a lower driving position, ideal for race cars with tight cockpit layouts and open top applications.
The ultra rigid structure of the B7 racing seat holds the driver firmly in position. This is critical for maintaining proper harness tension and ensuring the HANS device functions as intended during an impact. Consistent driver positioning improves safety and confidence in high load situations. Several edge configurations are available to suit different cockpit designs. The B7-44 and B7-47 XL FIA models feature rolled edges along the shell, known as Edges On. This creates a smooth line, improves ease of entry and exit, and is recommended when cockpit space allows. The B7-40 FIA uses an Edges Off design, where the rolled edge is removed near the legs. This version is ideal for narrow cockpits where the seat must fit tightly between the gearbox tunnel and door sill. The Tillett B7 FIA racing seat is built for competitive motorsport, where weight, fit, and driver control matter every lap.
