TNEER Valvetronic Exhaust System for Ferrari 458 Speciale 2013-2015

The Ferrari 458 Speciale occupies a specific position within the 458 lineage. Built on the same 4.5-litre naturally aspirated V8 platform as the Italia and Spider, the Speciale's engine is developed to 597 horsepower at 9,000 RPM through revised intake and exhaust tuning, lighter reciprocating components, and a higher compression ratio. The Speciale is also the most aerodynamically developed road-going 458 Ferrari produced, with active aerodynamics, wider body, and suspension tuning derived directly from the XX program. On a platform developed to this standard, the exhaust system is a more consequential component than on the standard 458, where the engine's specific state of tune and the car's overall performance envelope make breathing efficiency and acoustic character primary considerations rather than secondary ones. TNEER engineers this valvetronic system specifically for the 458 Speciale, with routing geometry and mounting points developed to the Speciale's chassis layout.

Each section is formed from single-piece high-grade stainless-steel tubing using robotic pipe bending technology, producing continuous tube geometry throughout the system without the weld joints and cross-sectional inconsistencies of multi-segment construction. The system installs to all factory mounting locations, requiring no structural modification and maintaining correct chassis alignment throughout.

The valvetronic rear mufflers are controlled directly from the car's cabin. Valves closed, the system maintains a composed tone appropriate for road use while preserving the inherent character of the Speciale's higher-output V8 at any throttle position. Valves open, the full acoustic output of the 4.5-litre V8 at 9,000 RPM is unobstructed. On a naturally aspirated engine developed to the Speciale's specification, the difference between a restricted and unrestricted exhaust note at full throttle is substantial.

Optional System Configurations

The valvetronic catback delivers a meaningful improvement over the factory system as a standalone upgrade. For owners who want to address the full exhaust path, TNEER offers headers and two downpipe specifications that complete the system from the primary collectors back and allow the Speciale's V8 to operate without restriction at any point in the exhaust path.

  • The headers replace the factory exhaust manifolds at the primary collection point, where exhaust gas temperature and velocity are at their highest. On a naturally aspirated platform developed to the Speciale's state of tune, header design has a direct influence on mid-range torque characteristics and top-end power delivery. Combined with the valvetronic catback, the headers complete the primary exhaust path from cylinder head to muffler in a single cohesive system that is consistent with the Speciale's performance intent.
  • The race downpipes remove the factory catalytic converters at the secondary restriction point downstream of the headers. On a naturally aspirated V8 at this displacement, compression ratio, and redline, the combination of performance headers and race downpipes represents the most complete reduction in exhaust restriction available for the platform. These components are intended for closed course and off-road use.
  • The 200-cell sport downpipes retain a high-flow catalytic substrate in place of the factory units, reducing restriction significantly while maintaining a level of emissions compliance appropriate for street-driven builds. For Speciale owners who require a balance between full-system performance and daily usability, the 200-cell specification delivers a substantive upgrade within a practical operating profile.

All optional components are fabricated from high-grade stainless steel and engineered to the same fitment standard as the valvetronic catback system.

About TNEER:

TNEER is built around a single engineering conviction: the exhaust system is not a peripheral component. It is the primary interface between the engine and the driver's experience of it. Every system TNEER produces is developed to bring out the true voice of the engine it is built for, improving exhaust flow and delivering a distinct tone that is mechanical, raw, and directly connected to the character of the car.

The manufacturing process that defines TNEER's fitment standard is their high-tech robotic pipe bending technology. Rather than fabricating exhaust routing from multiple welded sections, TNEER forms each tube from a single continuous piece, bending high-grade material to navigate the spatial constraints of each specific engine bay without the diameter reductions, flow disruptions, and structural inconsistencies that welded multi-piece construction introduces. The result is an exhaust system with continuous tube geometry, perfect fitment to the platform it is built for, and no compromises in the routing that precision bending makes unnecessary.

For enthusiasts who regard sound and performance as inseparable elements of the driving experience, TNEER engineers each system to deliver both from the first throttle input.

Note:

  • Downpipes are not CARB certified and may not be legal for use on emissions controlled vehicles; intended for off road use only.
  • ECU tuning may be required due to removal of factory catalytic converters.
